Hello Everyone,
I hope this finds you all well. This month we are returning once again to Wanda BYOB, featuring the wines of the rising new star of the Rheingau, Weingut Goldatzel. The wines are among the highest quality for value in the region. Winemaker Johannes Gross explains:
“The quality and style of our wines is chiefly the result of our work in the vineyards. We handpick our grapes and often do this quite selectively, meaning that we go through our vineyards several times in the course of one harvest. In the cellar, the grapes fall into the press by gravity without having to experience any more mechanical strain, and they are pressed, yet again, in a gentle and time-consuming fashion. We do not interfere with the fermentation process. Our main target is to keep the genuine character of each vintage as intact as possible.”
The wines are sourced from Wildwood Fine Wine and Spirits, which is owned by our Chapter member, Eric Feldhake, and will be paired with a light 3 course meal prepared by Chef Anthony. The wines we will be tasting are:
2020 Riesling Geisenheimer Klausweg Spatlese Trocken
2021 Riesling Geisenheimer Kalusweg Spatlese Trocken
2021 Riesling Spatlese Trocken Bestes Fass
2021 Riesling Johannisberger Vogelsang Alte Reben Feinherb
